Cyberhawk Awarded Best Safety Improvement Accolade

06 Oct 2017

Cyberhawk Innovations is delighted to have secured the Best Safety Improvement Award at last night’s [Thursday 28 September] UK Energy Innovation Awards.

The world leader in aerial inspection and survey using UAVs was recognised for its pioneering UAV inspection solution for assets across the offshore wind and electricity utilities industries.

Over 350 energy industry professionals attended the ceremony, held at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, to celebrate the achievements of companies and individuals working within the UK energy sector.

Cyberhawk has been using UAV technology to conduct close up inspections of live and difficult to reach structures since 2008. The company’s track record proves that this technique dramatically reduces safety risks, can incur savings into seven figures and is at least two-four times faster than traditional inspection methods.

A key part of Cyberhawk’s entries was iHawk, its proprietary, cloud based asset management software. iHawk has been subject to continual development, with modules tailored specifically to the wind and utilities industries. This software, teamed with industry qualified inspection engineers and experienced pilots, allows Cyberhawk to offer its clients a full inspection engineering service.

Chris Fleming, CEO at Cyberhawk, said: “Our whole team is honoured to have won this award. It is an extremely proud moment for Cyberhawk as the industry recognises our efforts in improving safety throughout the energy sector.

“Our innovative technology is being rapidly adopted by operators around the world to help maintain and manage their assets in a quick, cost-effective and, most importantly, safe manner. We continue to grow in our established markets and are entering new regions thanks to our well-established track record, high quality customer service and through the development of iHawk, which is pioneering the conversion of drone-captured data into power asset information.”

Cyberhawk is headquartered in Livingston, Scotland, with further bases in Houston, Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur. The company has completed more than 25 world firsts, with blue-chip customers in more than 24 countries on four continents. As well as onshore and offshore oil and gas, Cyberhawk also operates in the renewables, utilities and rail sectors.
