Profile of successful candidate:

All applicants must be based within a commutable distance from Livingston or be prepared to relocate. They must be willing to travel worldwide on a regular basis for varied lengths of time, hold a full UK driving license and be permitted to work in the UK. This job is physically demanding and involves regular outdoor work which may be both on- or off-shore.

Candidates who are invited for interview will be subject to a flight skills assessment using a small multi-rotor trainer aircraft.

Graduate Engineer- Utilities, Renewables & Rail

Cyberhawk is a fast-growing dynamic young company, operating in a number of exciting sectors throughout the world.  Due to the continued growth and demand for our world-renowned UAV services, we are looking to recruit four Defect Categorisers. This role would suit Graduate/Mechanical Engineers or those currently studying towards a qualification in Mechanical Engineering and will predominantly involve the inspection of industrial assets, such as electricity transmission towers and wind turbines, using Cyberhawk’s bespoke inspection software solution. Whilst the role will be predominantly office based (in Livingston, West Lothian) there may be scope for some travel.

Reporting to the Sector Team Lead, duties will include:

  • Receiving and organising UAV inspection data into a structured folder system
  • Image manipulation using 3rd Party software (sizing and cropping)
  • Identifying and categorising defects against a known standard using Cyberhawk’s custom categorising software
  • Generating Client reports
  • Reviewing inspection data on Cyberhawk’s online Client portal (iHawk)
  • Other duties as required

The ideal candidate possess the following attributes:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Have a good working level of English both written and oral
  • In possession or working towards a qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience of image processing/manipulation
  • Have excellent IT skills – at least intermediate level using MS Excel
  • Be a logical thinker
  • Be able to take ownership and responsibility of workload from project start to finish
  • Previous data entry experience would be an advantage although full training will be given.

IT Equipment Technician

The Position:

Reporting directly to the CFO, the key duties of this role will include:

  • First point of contact for IT issues within the company, resolve issues in a timely manner, including escalating to our external support supplier as required
  • Ensure that the planned maintenance schedule for the IT system is adhered to & seeking assistance from qualified personnel as required
  • Maintain a register of all IT equipment ensure that this is accurate and work with the finance team to ensure that this ties to the financial asset register
  • Work with our key equipment and IT partners to ensure that Cyberhawk requirements are met
  • Other administrative tasks as directed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of successfully working as IT helpdesk support in a busy operational environment which contains both windows and OSX machines
  • Have the personality to work within a fast-moving SME.
  • As this is a stand-alone/specialist role, individual needs to be self-motivated and organised.
  • Strong hands on electronics experience
  • Be able to accurately follow and adhere to schedules
  • Adept at problem solving with IT, strong written and verbal communication skills

Proposals Engineer

Location: Livingston

Salary: £18k-£20k

Cyberhawk is the world leader in aerial inspection and land surveying using Remotely Operated Aerial Vehicles (ROAVs) & Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Cyberhawk conduct close visual and thermal inspections of industrial assets both on- and off-shore such as flares, wind turbines and utility transmission towers. Cyberhawk also delivers state-of-the-art aerial land surveying solutions in oil and gas, utilities and renewable energy sectors.

As a young and growing company we are looking for a dynamic and innovative engineer who can multi-task as our business develops. We require people who are highly IT literate and able to quickly grasp multiple business areas. The successful candidates will quickly be given responsibility in developing proposals in all our market segments and will get a broad understanding of engineering and commercial aspects of multiple industries and will be encouraged to expand the scope of the business on a personal and professional level.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, and working with the sales team and finance department, this role will primarily involve preparing proposals and tenders for the inspection of metallic, concrete, masonry and composite structures at industrial facilities such as wind farms, high voltage powerlines, substations, refineries, power stations, offshore installations and petrochemical sites.

In addition, you will be trained to inspect different structures and create inspection reports. 


We are looking for an engineer who has a background in any engineering discipline but with a good understanding of mechanical, civil or structural engineering and interest in being involved in proposal preparation and commercial aspects of the business. Additionally, and depending on their area of expertise, they could also be deployed in the following areas:

  • Inspecting metallic structures and pressure systems such as flares at offshore and onshore oil, gas and petrochemical facilities
  • Inspecting electricity transmission and distribution towers
  • Inspecting fibre reinforced polymer wind turbine blades at onshore and offshore wind farms
  • Inspecting concrete or masonry structures such as chimney stacks and cooling towers.

Role Description:

  • Preparing proposals and tenders
  • Reviewing technical specifications, technical drawings and drafting technical requirements for projects
  • Managing CMS
  • Editing of photo images for reporting
  • Writing technical reports
